WHY IS THE CONTEX EVEN BETTER?!

I fundamentally disagree with Thomas Jefferson and Mark Twain. “Never use two words when one will do,” “don’t use a five-dollar word when a fifty-cent word will do,” I’m going to turn a single sentence into an essay and it’s going to cost five hundred dollars per word because those are the right words to get across what I mean without ambiguity and misunderstanding, thankyouverymuch

Tom Cox @cox_tom Almost certainly the best thing I was ever told about owls was when I met an owl handler and he told me that the wild owls in the sanctuary where he worked worried about the tame show owls there and sometimes stopped by to leave them shrews and mice as presents.ALT

i used to work for a nature center and we would constantly have wild owls come and call out to the owls in their cages and try to 1.) get them to follow them or 2.) they were looking for a mate

in the spirit of this post: when you live in areas with wild horses, the number one culprit for horse theft is actually other horses, because the young stallions that get chased out of the herd wanna start their own, and oh, look, look at all those cute mares in just,,,,a fenced off grassy area,,,how easy would it be to lure them over the fence,,,like some four-legged yodeling pied piper,,,

i think about this a lot

is tumblr aware that half the uk is suddenly Very Invested in the royal family because we think kate middleton is dead

-she had surgery a couple months ago

-vanished from public

-upon returning looked like someone else

-every picture of her since then appears to be some form of photoshop

-the mother’s day photo she posted 100% is photoshopped confirmed by her

shes gotta be dead this shit is EXCELLENT they aren’t even blaming megan for anything at the moment that’s how dead she is

image
image

like VERY photoshopped. some people have said her face in this picture was taken from a magazine cover. there’s so much happening i’m having a blast rn

image

This is the picture the released to try and prove that she’s alive and not in coma and all that.

That could honestly be fucking anyone.

They really want us to believe the only pap shot they could get was of her right ear….

That’s also a manip:

The bow can be seen perfectly.

The case for the Princess of Wales having early-stage cancer and receiving treatment in private:

  • They don’t want to ~distract~ from her father-in-law’s potentially deadly cancer diagnosis
  • She may be going through chemo, which means she looks pretty sick and may have lost her hair. Therefore, she isn’t being photographed.
  • If they surgically removed a tumor, that would require a long recovery time. If they did preventative surgery like a mastectomy, that’s an even longer recovery time.
  • If it was another “invisible” medical issue or a mental health treatment, you KNOW they’d get at least one picture of her IRL out there to stop all this press. But you can’t really hide the fact that you’re going through chemo…
  • She’s right at the age when women start to get breast and ovarian cancer

The case for the Princess of Wales being dead:

  • Her PR person/scheduler/equerry/whatever-that-lady-is has also been MIA (def in the pit with her)
  • One of the rooms in the Tower of London has been closed for “repairs” since Kate was last seen
  • Palace insiders say she hasn’t even been heard on the phone in weeks
  • Prince William was recently seen carrying a copy of the films Weekend at Bernie’s and Bernie (star. Jack Black)
  • Five out of the nine historic Princesses of Wales were either openly murdered or died under very mysterious circumstances. I’m just saying…

What a time to be alive

In this model of Tesla, apparently—get this—according to the Tesla manual, you do it on a touchscreen.

Did a human being just die because of swiping the wrong way?

…And then, when you’re in the water and the car’s power systems (which operate the doors, because of course they do) have all gone down, how do you get out?

You partially disassemble the door and pull out one specific wire. The image via Warren Terra at Bluesky.)

image

…I don’t know about the rest of you, but I am never getting into one of these alleged vehicles. Ever.

…you know, we’ve been saying that these things are deathtraps, but holy SHIT

I feel compelled to point out that the diagram above is for the back door. I still don’t know where to find the wire to open the front doors.

This is why anyone who actually works in tech (being a tech ceo does not count as working) is wary at best about making things “smarter”. The failure mode for a computerized mechanism should be functioning as a non-computerized mechanism, but very often the failure mode for a fully-smart device is undefined behaviour that the manufacturer doesn’t intend for you to ever see. And that means there’s no recourse in situations like this.

me at half the animals on the post: “BITCH THAT’S H U G E”

THAT COW IS A HORSE.

That first maned wolf is a model.

so we just gon ignore that fucking super pig

@myqingdom Actually, that’s a pretty average-sized pig.

People think pigs are tiny, but they’re thinking of mini pigs and teacup pigs.

Regular pigs (the kind people eat and farm) are big, powerful creatures. And they know it. Male pigs are especially agressive and dangerous.

In Brazil the raditional werewolf is a corpulent pig, not a wolf, because our brand of wolves (maned wolves) are gentle and shy, whereas pigs are well-known in rural areas to not only kill small children (and the odd adult) but to outright eat them.

THESE are big pigs:

A museum in China is appealing to the Guinness Book of Records to recognise this 900 kg pig as the biggest pig in the world:

Some random and totally useless facts about the ides of march in preparation for the stabbing main event

Caesar knew that people were conspiring against him and that they wanted to kill him but he ignored the warnings bc he basically went: i don’t care if they plan to kill me, they don’t have the audacity to actually go through with it

There was a prophecy that Caesar would be killed but he ignored that too

Caesar wanted to ditch the senate meeting bc his wife had a nightmare that something bad would happen and begged him to stay home. Decimus (the third of the main conspirators) convinced Caesar to come to the senate meeting

There were about 60 conspirators who agreed to help kill Caesar, the rest of the senators just stood by during the murder, no one really tried to help him

Riots broke out after the murder because the population generally liked Caesar

Caesar’s body was later burned at the stake

Nothing changed politically speaking because the conspirators failed to actually take over the government -> Brutus and Cassius (and many of the other conspirators) had to flee

Some sources say that Brutus was haunted by Caesar’s ghost and later impaled himself on his own sword to escape the guilt said ghost confronted him with
